Some new shots of the Ashenslades, an area within Mirkwood, were released today.
I always think it’s interesting/funny to see shots of player characters from angles I normally never see them from.

Here’s some lovely shots of Mirkwood’s Scuttledells. A dell is a valley and “scuttle” is a term for a deep bucket for coal … so I can only presume the area is meant to be a deep valley.
Scuttledells seems to fit that definition well. Some creepy wights and spiders, at that.

I’m a bit behind on this, but I’ve finally added Turbine’s most recent press released screens to the gallery page. These screens show off three new areas that will come with the Mines of Moria expansion: Durin’s Way, The Flaming Deeps and The Waterworks.
They all offer surprisingly different styles despite all taking place underground in Moria. I especially like what they’ve been doing with The Waterworks. It has almost an Atlantean look to it, despite all of the Dwarven touches.
