John Funk of WarCry had a chance to play around with Mines of Moria alongside Turbine’s Aaron Campbell back at PAX. This article was posted two weeks ago, but I just came across it today. It has some level of spoilers, but rarely gets too deep into things. I think most people could safely read through it, even if they want to be surprised by things.
It doesn’t follow the actual flow of the game players will experience, unlike some more recent impressions that have made their way online. Instead, Aaron showed John around various parts of the expansion. The article covers areas, monsters, quests, session play, the new classes and more.
What I enjoyed about it is that you really get a sense of how fun the expansion will be and how much Campbell and the other employees of Turbine seem to enjoy the work they’re doing. It’s nice to see that.
