The official LotRO site updated today with a featured article entitled “Hero’s Guide to Hollin Gate”. The article explains the history of the gate, how the area and the areas around it are realized in game and what your characters will actually be doing there.
The article is relatively spoiler-ish, so if you want to go in totally fresh it’s probably best to avoid it entirely. For everyone, else it contains a good deal of story information and some other interesting points such as public instances in the area, the enemies you’ll encounter, helpful NPCs you’ll run into, the game’s first use of the new dramatic camera (which removes the camera from your control to take more cinematic angles) and your first encounter with Legendary Weapons.
Definitely worth checking out, I’d say.

This page contains screenshots released to the media by Turbine for the purposes of marketing Mines of Moria. It is divided into basic sections so you can more easily find what you’re looking for.

Turbine provided Massively with 4 different shots of Hollin Gate from Mines of Moria. I put one above, but you can see the rest on their site. As you may recall, Hollin Gate is the entrance to Moria used within the books and film.
It’ll be interesting to see how Turbine handles even just the opening of the gate itself. After all, Gandalf himself wasn’t exactly confident of the word needed to open Hollin Gate .… Makes you wonder if your characters should necessarily know any better. That and the door is apparently covered in rubble now.
Of course, it’s also worth mentioning the Watcher (the creature that attacks the Fellowship after Pippin throws a rock into the water). Turbine has talked about this creature a few times before, but it will be fun to see how that plays out.
