Hey everyone. Our contest wrapped up today with just under 90 votes. Our winners are Justin and Liam. I will be e-mailing both of you the codes for your Adventurer’s Packs soon.
As promised, I also have an additional prize for a random contest participant that didn’t win an Adventurer’s Pack. That person is Chad, who coincidentally would have been in third place for our voting. Things work out in mysterious ways.
Chad will be e-mailed a code for 60 days of playtime in LOTRO.
In addition to the three winners chosen by MMeOw, two more will be chosen by our readers through a poll. View all fourteen shots and submit a vote on what you like best. I encourage people to let others know about this so we get a nice sampling! The two submissions with the highest amount of votes by 12PM CST on January 8th will be awarded an Adventurer’s Pack. The poll closes automatically at that time, so please be sure to vote before then.
Here are the fourteen you may choose between:
Alexander’s Shot
Anita’s Shot
Bradley’s Shot
C. King’s Shot
Chad’s Shot
Evan’s Shot
Fally’s Shot
Heather & Stephen’s Shot
Ian’s Shot
Jeff’s Shot
Jeremy’s Shot
Justin’s Shot
Liam’s Shot
Senor Taco’s Shot
The poll is on the top of the sidebar for easy access on any page.
More good news: After the contest ends, there will be a random drawing out of everyone who entered and didn’t win an Adventurer’s Pack. This person will be awarded a code for a LOTRO-related prize. This one isn’t an Adventurer’s Pack, but it’s still nice!
Hi everyone. I hope you all had a great holiday. I’ve kind of been out of commission, but I’m finally starting to feel better.
Anyway, our LOTRO Screenshot Contest has officially ended. I’ve reached out to some of the MMeOw staff for opinions and have narrowed down our two groups of winners.
By nature, contests like this never are as popular as ones that require a comment or a friendship on a social network. Even so, I received a lot more screens than I was anticipating. I was happy to see that. Every shot we got was good, in my opinion. It was hard to narrow things down, but we tried our best (not just based upon “beauty”, but difficulty, composition, etc.). Please don’t be offended if you’re not in one of our final groups!
Here are three winners as chosen by MMeOw:
Bob’s shot of Weathertop at dusk. I’m sure we all take a lot of shots of this landmark, but Bob did it at just the right time.
Chris’s shot of a battle in progress. If you’ve tried to grab a shot of an enemy at a certain point in its animation sequence, you know how hard is to get it just right. Chris did a nice job here.
Miriam’s shot of Lothlorien. Lothlorien always looks pretty, but Mirmam’s composition in this shot really enhances the effect.
Congrats to all three of you. I’ll be e-mailing you shortly with your Adventurer’s Pack code. Just log into your Turbine account and apply the code!
In order to keep things a bit more “fair”, we also a group that everyone can vote on. Out of the dozens we received, these have been narrowed down to shots submitted by fourteen separate people. I will be posting something separate about this shortly, so stay tuned!
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. Have a good New Year’s. We’ll be back with regular posting once the holidays (and more importantly for me, the sick season) slow down.
That’s a pretty nice complement to ours, which is offering the Adventurer’s Pack. Interestingly, both of ours are screenshot contests too haha. Would be fun if you won both, huh?
That’s pretty cool. Orion is a nice guy and has done a great job with some of the area revamps. I bet there will be some good questions and responses.
We’ve teamed up with Turbine to offer two winners a key each to Mirkwood (if they haven’t upgraded yet) and a guest spot on a future LOTROCast episode. The contest is a screenshot contest with two categories; one category is based on locations and one is based on characters. More info here:
