If you’d like your screen shot to be immortalized here, feel free to send it on over!

Today’s Random Screenshot features my main character, an Elven Rune-keeper named Eluveril. Her name translates to “blue rose”, although I’ve not decided on a surname yet. This is on the main road in Rivendell, overlooking a waterfall. One touch I love about this area are the little seed pods that float around. You can see a couple riding the air currents behind her.

Right now she’s clearing up some bad guys in Eregion, getting ready for her excursion into Moria. My old main, Branson (on Gladden), made it there long ago. This is only the second character that I’ve brought to the area, so I’m planning on writing up a bit about my experience. I’m excited! :)

Regardless as to how you may feel about the current state of the Old Forest, the place still looks extremely foreboding. If you look closely, you can make out a bear starting to stalk me down.

Screen shots rarely do this game justice, in my opinion. This is especially true of the Old Forest, which is full of fog, lighting effects and (in Direct X 10, at least) tons of shadow effects.

You can click the image above for a full-sized version.

I’ve not done a Random Screenshot in a while. If you’d like to contribute your own shot along with a little bit of information, I’d be more than happy to show it off.

With Mines of Moria officially out, you were probably expecting a screenshot from one of the new areas. Sorry!

I actually spent my time playing in Forochel yesterday. My brother has a Guardian he’d really like to get caught up and he isn’t getting Mines of Moria until later today. I figured the least I could do is help him out. Plus, in the meantime, I get some rep points with the Lossoth.

You also have the bonus of a free rant!

I grabbed this shot while in Goblin Town. As you get deeper and deeper into the area, you’ll stumble across a couple of pieces of Goblin art. I thought this one was especially neat, myself.

The artwork depicts the Goblin King and other Goblins pretty much massacring the Dwarves. A few of them are slowly crawling away with spears sticking out of their backs.

There’s even a cute little Warg in the mix.
