MMeOw is a simple blog about The Lord of the Rings Online, with guides, news and my thoughts. With Mines of Moria around the corner, you’re going to see a lot of news, that’s for sure.

I’ve found that most sites that deal with the genre are all-encompassing, but often spend more time on telling you how to do quests than anything else. More importantly, they go after the hardcore MMORPG player most.

I’m simply not a hardcore MMORPG player. I’m lucky if I spend 5 hours playing computer games during an entire week. I don’t want to look through hundreds of posts to determine the best skill tree for my character. I don’t want to spend twelve hours raiding.

Maybe some people enjoy that, which is great. It’s not for me. I just want to run around, play with friends and enjoy myself. I focus on the things I think will make the game more fun to me. That’s all this blog is about and hopefully there are other people with a similar mindset.

Sometimes this means helping people understand things in the game that gave me trouble. Sometimes it means showing people how to improve their character, give them more goals to go after and more things to try.  Sometimes that just means playing around during festivals. It doesn’t mean totally ignoring being “good” at the game, but it does mean that the focus isn’t on arguing about stats.

I suppose most of all I want to let people know what’s going on in the game and help them with things I didn’t quite understand at first. The hope is that understanding these mechanics will allow people to have more fun playing the game.

Obviously this means I’m no pro at this game. I enjoy it and I feel I’m pretty good at getting around in it, but if I’m wrong about something feel free to let me know. Just be nice about it. :)

Thanks!
