Turbine and Sapience were nice enough to offer some contest prizes to some LOTRO blogs, including MMeOw. Thanks to them for the opportunity!

We’ve had contests in the past, but they’ve been randomized. This time around, I thought we’d try something different. That’s why we’re holding the LOTRO Screenshot Contest.

Entering is simple: Take a screenshot in LOTRO and e-mail it to us as an attachment. Consider your composition and what’s in the frame. You can use F12 to hide UI elements and N to hide floating names if you so desire. Images will not be judged based upon compression quality, so it will not matter whether you take a shot in LOTRO itself or in FRAPS. Resolution will not be factored in either, although send a thumbnail!

All entries must be sent in by noon CST on December 31. Then the MMeOw staff will pick 3 favorites. Each will be awarded a digital code for the Adventurer’s Pack. This code unlocks shared storage and two extra character slots for your account.

We will also pick several other “honorary mentions”. Visitors can then vote on their favorite through a poll that will conclude on January 8th (it will start by the 4th or earlier — exact details will be posted when the time comes). The two honorary mentions with the most votes will also be given codes for the Adventurer’s Pack.

Let me know if you have any questions and good luck!

Update: I’ve gotten several e-mails already and one had a good question. You can submit as many screenshots as you like, but only one will be chosen per person.

I would guess that you received a false-positive, as my Anti-virus doesn’t get an alert. It could also be a harmless cookie that it was alerting you to as well.

Yeah, not sure there. There’s no ads on this site at all, so it’s definitely not that.
