Some new shots of the Ashenslades, an area within Mirkwood, were released today.
I always think it’s interesting/funny to see shots of player characters from angles I normally never see them from.

The places look great!
My only beef — it is painfully obvious in these shots that the same mobs are reused as we encountered in Angmar and elsewhere. There is some logic in this (Sauron has a limited stock of minion templates to work with), but seeing a new mob type is so exciting (psychedelic frogs in the Waterworks), I can’t help being a little disappointed.
But it could be just these screenshots, and Turbine is saving the best for release to have the greatest impact. I am an eternal optimist, after all.
We’re on the same page there. New mobs are always a fun thing to discover.
