I don’t consider myself the authority on LotRO information by any stretch of the imagination, so writing guides suited to the purpose of the Lorebook is kind of beyond me.

That said, there have been quite a few things I’ve added so far. Most of these have been basic information on equipment I’ve found and enemies I’ve chopped apart. It’s actually been fun to do so far .… Kind of like I’m on an expedition cataloging what’s out there. I just need a Pokédex.

What’s involved is relatively simple: I run around and while I’m having fun and doing quests in an area, I take a snapshot of the enemy I’m fighting and record what I got from it. Since all of the items are already in the Lorebook, linking to them is very easy. If the item is something of note (such as a decent piece of equipment, etc.), I link back to the monster that dropped it from the item’s own page. Basically just tying everything together.

Here’s some of what I’ve put together over the last few days when I’ve had spare time:

In most of these cases, anything below “Player Entry” was blank before I edited the page. As you might have noticed, I spent a bit more time formatting the enemy pages. Once I found a setup I liked, however, it was super simple to replicate.

I’m not exactly known for my attention span, so it’s nice that it’s been pretty straightforward. Each update doesn’t take me terribly long. If you’ve ever edited a Wiki, you’ll know what to do. If you haven’t, it’s no big deal and I’m sure plenty of people would be willing to help you out (myself included).

Feel free to join me if you like. If you’d like to see what I’m up to, you can also view my contributions.
