After Mines of Moria, I noticed that people in my Fellowship were not always showing up on my map and radar. I assumed this was a bug and apparently I wasn’t the only one.

Thanks to Scott and Politician’s comments, I found out that the issue was actually a change in filters. Turbine has added a new Fellowship Leader filter to the world map and radar. To change your Radar filters, simply right click the Radar and then go to the Filters selection. A big list of filters will pop up and you can check or un-check anything you like. I noticed the Item Master is disabled by default as well.

The process for the world map is similar. There’s a filters drop down menu at the top left when you’re in the map. Just check and un-check whatever you need.

In my case, the odd thing seemed to be that this would sometimes be enabled and sometimes be disabled. Scott also mentions that not all of the new filters seem to show up on every map.

I’m not sure what’s going on there, but in the meantime I can at least adjust it easily. I can’t imagine a situation where you wouldn’t want to see the Fellowship Leader, so it’s an odd oversight. Hopefully Turbine will make displaying this the default once Patch 1 hits the live servers.

I thought this was important to post just in case you haven’t come across this fix or you don’t read the comments here. It was really driving me nuts. I guess the simplest explanation is the last one you think of sometimes.

P.S., Sorry for the lack of activity here the last few days. My hard drive died out and I had to scramble to replace it, install my programs (and LotRO) and restore my files. Long few days, but it’ll pick up again. Thanks!
