Turbine has announced that their “Welcome Back Weekend” will return. The event starts tomorrow, November 6th, and runs through November 10th. During this time former players will be able to play for free. If you no longer have your DVDs, you can download either the standard resolution or high resolution version of the client. The client includes everything up to the last major update, Book 14, so patching shouldn’t be too bad.
In addition, all players will receive an additional 25% in bonus XP from mobs between November 6th and November 17th. This stacks with rest XP, so it’s pretty substantial. This should help you get your languishing characters up to 50 or even start a new one and get a nice head start.
Maybe I can finally make more progress with my Minstrel and Burglar.
