When you purchase Mines of Moria you will receive a set number of tokens in-game. These are known as Ithildin Coins in-game and can be traded with a special NPC for any of 8 different items. Each item costs one Ithildin Coin.
How many Ithildin Coins you receive depends upon which version of the game you buy. The digital upgrade comes with 3 tokens , the Complete Edition with 2 tokens and the Collector’s edition with 3 tokens. If you pre-order either the Complete or Collector’s edition, you will get an additional token for a total of 3 or 4 respectively.
Patience has created a thread on the official forums detailing this as well as as providing images and statistics of the items you can trade for. I’ve included those images below:
House Items
Pesky Dormouse — This mouse runs around your house and then returns to his mousehole.

Colourful Songbird — This bird flutters around your house and sings.
Pocket Items

Usable Items

Consumable Items

Interestingly, the Horn of Dwarrowdell provides a +10 Radiance bonus. Radiance is not something that currently exists in the game, but Patience says it’s a new mechanic and works in conjunction with Hope and Dread. I guess we’ll be finding out more soon.
That said, I love the addition of house pets and hope we’ll see more. Turtles please.

[…] there are two new housing items that create a new category of “house pets”. The Pesky Doormouse and Colourful Songbird are the only two that have been shown so far and they are only available by trading in tokens […]

Hi. Any new character you make will have the Ithildin coin in their inventory, so you shouldn’t have a problem.
