EDIT: This image was removed since it was covered by the NDA, which I was not aware of at the time. Now that the NDA is lifted again, it’s back!
Quite a while back people were asking about new mounts for Mines of Moria. Turbine responded rather vaguely that horses are too scared to tread through Moria, but what would be willing to go there wasn’t really discussed.
Pictures of the in-game map of Moria surfaced after PAX and they clearly showed stables throughout the area. As you should know, stable icons in the game are depicted as horse heads. I wasn’t sure what this meant … Had they just not changed the icon yet? Did leaving it as a horse reduce confusion?
LotroLife posted a screen of the mount from a player named Hellfanger.
Here’s a zoomed in version:
So it’s a goat. Weird!
Personally I’m unclear on how the mount is sold and so forth, but I’m glad to see something new.

OMG you’re linked on Massively! http://www.massively.com/2008/09/12/mines-of-morias-cat-goat-is-out-of-the-bag/Look for the [via MMeOW] at the bottom of the post. ^_^

When I was shown the mount at PAX, the dev indicated that it was some sort of yak. He said that its animation was very cool, but I didn’t get to see it, as he had no other stable locations linked to the one we were at. (He didn’t seem to seriously consider my suggestion that he use his magic dev port to take us to another stable so we could ride back.)
Oh, interesting. I didn’t consider it being a yak. It’s kind of hard to tell in that picture .… I wish it was a little closer.

I removed the image since technically it’s NDA covered. That said, there are other images of the mount on the LotRO official forums posted by members… which I assume might be from PAX.
Turbine hasn’t removed them or anything, so I’ve been confused as to how to handle this. I just took it down and am moving on lol.
