Mines of Moria Collector's Edition

Turbine sent out a press release today concerning Mines of Moria. It turns out that Warner Bros. will be distributing the title to retail in North America. Midway distributed the original release in the area.

The release states that three versions of the game will be available:

The Complete Edition is a retail release and will contain both Shadows of Angmar and Mines of Moria in a single package.

The Collector’s Edition is a second retail release and will contain both Shadows of Angmar and Mines of Moria. This will be available in limited quantities and come in a leather-bound book-like package. It also includes:

  • 3 exclusive tokens that can be exchanged for the player’s choice of 8 different in-game items
  • 22″ x 22″ premium quality cloth map of the Mines of Moria
  • Special gold-plated ring complete with chain and pouch
  • Mines of Moria poster
  • The Lord of the Rings Online Art and Music Collection with the official Mines of Moria Soundtrack
  • A full color Collector’s Edition Starter Guide

The Digital Expansion is a downloadable version of Mines of Moria that will be available only to existing subscribers.

There’s no official word on the cost of these various packages. I would hope the Complete Edition would top out at $50, given that the original release can be found for as little as $10. Hopefully the Digital Expansion will keep all of this in mind and be priced competitively.

All three versions will release this Fall, but an exact date isn’t yet available.

Thanks to Massively for pointing this out again.
